The data shown for 2019 on Workplace Gender Equality shows Women comprise 50.2% of employees in Australia, where 37.7% are full-time employees and 74.8% are working part-time. Graph 1 shows the workforce composition by gender per industry.
as you will observe, women in the mining, manufacturing and construction industries comprise of 17%, 27% & 18% of the total workforce. However, this has increased since the Workplace Gender Equality’s 2015 report. in 2019, Women still hold the highest number in the Health Care & Education industries with 80% & 63%.
